Under 7s are the first taste at playing in friendly matches against other teams.
The under 7s are generally those boys and girls that are in year 2 at Primary school who are due to turn 7 by the end of the school year.
We start to build on the basic skills learnt in the rookies and begin to develop the players into getting familiar with the game. We still do lots of fun exercises training alongside the rookies.
Training sessions are 10-11.30am at Horam Rec, based in front of the clubhouse. Parents can purchase food and beverages from the clubhouse. All players are welcome so come along and join in!
This season started out really positive with a healthy group of new recruits in the Rookies all very keen and some soon to move up and play for the under 7’s.
This all went according to plan up until December when the weather took a turn for the worst and ended our weekly training sessions very suddenly.
We were so late to return to Horam that it was very difficult to build on players so late in the season.
It has been a very frustrating season for the Rookies but for the ones that have remained loyal I am very proud of them and admire their determination and commitment.
We have had some great fun in a small space of time and I have seen great progress which will continue in seasons to come. Thank you to my Rookies for being who you are. I would also like to say a big thank you to Carys Keeley for all her help this season she is doing her Duke of Edenborough award, but more than that she has been at such a young age a great support and an absolute star
