The Broad Oak & Horam World Cup day – 14th May 2016
Saturday 14th May 2016
At Broad Oak & Horam JFC we are very lucky as we have a World Cup event every year!
Our World Cup Day is an annual event for the registered players in the club; each Broad Oak team is split into 4 national teams, England, Spain, Brazil and Italy. They then play a World Cup tournament within each age group, with points given for a win, draw and even a loss. The points across all the age groups in the club are eventually added up and a winning country is crowned World Cup Champions.
Every year the teams play for the Bertie Adams trophy which has very special significance to Broad Oak & Horam JFC; as well as the right to hold aloft our own World Cup. Each player in the winning team will also get a World Cup medal.
An adult’s tournament is played in the afternoon. This is open to anyone in the local community who wished to get a team together, teachers, 6th form students, local businesses, parents and even managers reliving their old football glory days… it was such a great success we will be running it again this year.
So if you haven’t attended our World Cup Day before you are in for a treat.
Everyone in the club is invited and your team managers should have either already told you the team you are playing in or will be doing so very soon. Entrance to the tournament is only £1 per player and there are refreshments and BBQ available all day.
Anyone who has some time and would like to help with the refreshments please contact Ali Wilton so she can add your name to the rota: email@example.com
The event has been kindly sponsored by Goldsmith and Allcorn so our thanks go out to them again for their continued support of our club.
